Hello

Hello.
So here is the story.

[More:]

My dad bought the car around 1987. Drove it every day with minimal maintenance for 20 years. The only major repair on the car was a blown engine, in the early 90's , by my dad's fault, guess what the engine won't run very well with the oil lamp on  . During the engine rebuild the car was repainted to a colour that was suposed to be BRG but the guy who was doing the paintjob was colourblind and a scoundrel ( colour was way off, no clear coat, on some parts of the body there is around 4-5 mm of putty, and he didnt take the old paint off, there are 3 paints below this one :)):)):)) )

This is the only picture i have of the car in 1 piece

The car is standard(-ish):
2.0 litre 8 valve engine
SU carbs
4-speed gearbox
5-speed rear axle :>>
14" alloys
glass sunroof

My plan is to build a everyday driver car... upgrade the brakes and the suspension of the car, remove the rust, repair and repaint the body, convert it to standalone EFI and ignition.

I thought it would be simple, i thought i could just upgrade the brakes and drive it for a while but the more parts i took of the car the more faults i found. From the rust on the body, rusted rear axle mounting brackets, electric faults, and finaly oil in the rear gearbox extension which means the output shaft seal is gone bye-bye( who knows for how long since the gearbox was a bit roughish especially shifiting 1-2-1). That last thing ment i have to remove the gearbox and with that the engine too. I think it will take half a year to get the car back on the wheels(+- few months :)):)) ).
