I have BLOWN my engine, that was my thoughts after finding a puddle of oil under the car
when I shifted my TR7 to let my wife get her car out. BTW she was not too pleased about the mess on the driveway., she was going to get less and less pleased as time went on.
As I use my car daily it was required to take me to work on the early shift next day. The journey to work was no problem as it was dark. Returning to my car in the afternoon I again found a puddle of oil under her. Oil level checked I made my way home on a bright sunny Saturday afternoon, this journey thro the centre of the city was the most embarrassing I can remember. Once the engine had heated up I had smoke billowing out of the vents on the bonnet, in fact the car seemed to have smoke all around it the sun made the smoke look worse. For a good lot of the way through the city I followed a bus in the hope that onlookers would think it was the bus smoking. By the time I got home the inside of the engine bay was covered in oil. Oil and smoke was coming from every where, crankshaft seal, valve cover & dipstick tube. Oil was also getting on to the exhaust manifold and smoking. The viscous fan also had been helping to spread the oil about. The decision was made to remove the engine and see what had happened.
