What a winker!

Oh dear. My MOT is up on 25 April. I'm nervous as it is, given that the NI MOT's are so stringent. Last week, I got a flyer through the post advising me that from March 31, head lamp level and angles are now part of the test. From what I can understand of the literature, I've got a tolerance of 1.5 degrees 88| Do TR7 lights EVER pop up to the same height twice in a row?

And, just to add to my woes, when I started the car at the weekend, its started winking ;)

[More:]

It's now in 1 up 1 down mode. I have light OK, but the drivers side lifter isn't functioning. I tried the usual cleaning up of earth points but still nothing :( (Now thinking "relays")

Oh dear. And running test leads from the battery to test it out will be fun with a boot mounted battery box! Anyway, enough of my winging - its a Monday & I'm not on form. Will have a go at fixing the winker tonight!

They all do this from time to time as I'm sure you know. I have this problem with The Thing. It's actually a sticking motor. A quick twist of the knob at the end of the motor and it's back in action. Do not worry about the MOT though. With a previous car I got the lights up then disconnected the motors - took to MOT and passed.

Unfortunately, rotating the knob raises to full height & drops it down manually again.... so I'm thinking theres no power at all (or a really bad earth).

Was thinking about raising the lights, getting the level checked & then disconnecting the red plugs. Good idea. Will do that for sure!
