Elvington drag strip

Is it any good for a 3.5L TR7 V8? I don't really know, but I was quicker than the other TR7s. Including a Grinnall 3.9 with some quite expensive engine mods and Neil Sawyer's CCC/Dave Bullman V8 rally car.

Ever been to a drag-strip meeting? Me neither. I think you should though. I drove up to Elvington airfield near York on Sunday 23rd after Neil Sawyer invited the TR Register and TR Drivers club to join him in his first visit. Club Triumph was also invited later after a query from Martin Randle (comps sec).

A shame that only 5 TRs came, amongst a crowd of Subarus. It was still great fun though and hopefully more of you will join in next time. The card in the photo is my best 1/4 mile time/terminal speed which I'm rather proud of as fastest TR7 of the day (and yes, they were all V8s) :>>

Glad to see your having fun.
Sub 15 sec wow! not bad for a motor with no exotic bits, just good old fashioned breathing mods. I am also very proud to know she is getting the life she deserves.
From an ex acquantance of the fastest TR7 of the day.

not a bad time at all Malcolm, how did you do against the 'scooby' boys out of intrest?

I have a 2004 volvo v70 R, no mods and the automatic version, that will only do it in around 14.5 by all accounts....

must crack on and get my tr7 v8 fully sorted now...
