I was thinking lately that the "Thing" is well overdue another day out on the track. So it was just a bit convenient when Victor from the Retro Car Club told me he was taking his 270bhp MG Maestro (!!) to a charity track day at Llandow on Saturday. It seems this event was under-subscribed, despite the quite reasonable £90 entry - all of which was to go to cancer charities. So not too surprisingly I tore his arm off and on Friday evening headed off with my no.1 son on the 3 1/2 hour journey to a nearby guesthouse
Llandow is a cracking little 1 mile sprint circuit, and we had a ball. Especially as the chief marshall allowed my son (10) to go out as a passenger in the car (we don't normally allow it: but seeing as you have harnesses, a cage and a helmet that fits him properly - why not?).
And (despite some dodgy weather) car and driver performed well all day. The best news is I seem to have finally got my confidence on a wet track - no bad thing living in England ![]()
A couple of pictures of the car at Llandow:

As usual you can see all the pictures we took on the day on fotopic HERE.
