Bushes

I still wasnt happy with the handling of the car, I know it was on standard suspension, but it just didn't feel right. So on went a set of Superpro Bushes from Neil Revington. These arent cheap, I replaced subframe, control arm, antiroll bar, rear trailing arms and tie rod bushes, these come to about £200, I was unsure whether to get these, over S&S's bushes but i bit the bullet and boy am I glad i did. The differance is amazing, considering the bushes on the car were only a year old. It was a different car, smooth, responsive, and I will recommend them to anyone, not just once, or twice, but again and again :D

Tyres

Well we decided that tyres were the next thing to be fixed, especially since one was gouged out by a ring spanner that came though a hole that opened up in the boot. After much debating I decided upon Yokohama S306's, these are very grippy, even to the extent the steering complains on full lock manovering. only £30 a piece from www.mytyres.co.uk delivered and fitted by a mate for £20 inc. balencing, money well spent I'd say. I mean what modern sports car can you get a decent set of 5 tyres fitted for £170 :D

Fixing it......

So how was it fixed? well the whole story will follow soon, the car went to Neil Revington for an alignment check, everything was fine, even tho the the panels were a bit bent, the front shocks had burst, the LH lower assembly of the strut bent, steering rack that was on its way out anyway was definitly out now and a few other minor suspension bits were bent, other than that it was fine...

...what went wrong? I found the limitation of the handling of the TR7 in the wet on crap tyres (crap by review of my dad with much more experiance in these things) they were firestone F590's if anyone's wondering - reduce rolling resistance to increase fuel economy - a great idea on the well handling TR7 :p Well here's the result:

I think the words bend and hedge cover it - ouch... Luckily none of the damage was structural, and after checking various dimentions the car was deamed straight.

ok so here's the car when i bought it august 2004

So's heres the car when I got it in august, I will spend the next week going though what has gone right (wrong) with the car and how its been fixed, then I will blog happy as and when , so heres the opening picture.
My TR7 WFH 302X

Well it's shiny, all up-together and very near to original, new brakes, suspension, refurb dizzy, imaculate interior, only little specs of rust on the arches, so another £500 quid next year to fix up the arches and a little spraying I would have a nice car to go to the summer shows in...( I paid £1350 a bargain I thought) so what went wrong?
