  • Tip for refitting doors

I recently refitted the doors and bonnet to a FHC having just sprayed her and after chipping paint off one of the doors and wings while fitting it I had a useful idea that prevented the same thing occurring on the other side. Let me share it with you all so you may prevent doing this to your own pride and joy.

I got a 2 foot long strip of rubber fuel pipe, slit it from top to bottom down one side and slid it over the edge of the door where it will meet the "A" Pillar. I then fitted the door with this on acting as a cushioned barrier against the wing then peeled it back off when the door was successfully mounted. Worked a treat, helped get the spacing right as well, and would also work on a bonnet.
